League of Women Voters of the Bay Area

Register to Vote sign and an American flag

There is no other organization quite like the League of Women Voters. Female or male, young or experienced, too busy to help or looking for a way to get involved - all of us help promote the informed and active participation of citizens in government. That's what makes democracy work! The League of Women Voters of the Bay Area, founded in 1967, takes our mission seriously and works very hard to fulfill our charge. We are primarily known for our work in voters service - registering people to vote, distributing thousands of Voters Guides, and hosting candidates forums. We also educate ourselves and the community on timely issues through discussion meetings. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

LWV-Bay Area Annual Meeting

Saturday, June 6, 2015

Make plans to attend our 50th Annual Meeting! In addition to our usual business of approving a budget and electing officers, our speaker, Charriss York of the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension will discuss non-point water pollution and the Ghirardi WaterSmart Park in League City. This park has recently received the top award from the Houston-Galveston Area Council’s 2014 Parks and Natural Areas award competition.
