League of Women Voters of the Bay Area

Register to Vote sign and an American flag

There is no other organization quite like the League of Women Voters. Female or male, young or experienced, too busy to help or looking for a way to get involved - all of us help promote the informed and active participation of citizens in government. That's what makes democracy work! The League of Women Voters of the Bay Area, founded in 1967, takes our mission seriously and works very hard to fulfill our charge. We are primarily known for our work in voters service - registering people to vote, distributing thousands of Voters Guides, and hosting candidates forums. We also educate ourselves and the community on timely issues through discussion meetings. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Annual Meeting

Saturday, May 10, 2014

League members attend the Annual Meeting for a delicious brunch, take care of business (elect officers, approve a budget and program) set priorities, enjoy an interesting speaker, and celebrate the past year. Our speaker will be Lan Shen, president of the Native Prairies Association of Texas. Shen will tell the story of the preservation of the pristine Deer Park prairie and will describe other projects that conserve/restore the coastal prairie habitat.
