League of Women Voters of the Bay Area

Register to Vote sign and an American flag

There is no other organization quite like the League of Women Voters. Female or male, young or experienced, too busy to help or looking for a way to get involved - all of us help promote the informed and active participation of citizens in government. That's what makes democracy work! The League of Women Voters of the Bay Area, founded in 1967, takes our mission seriously and works very hard to fulfill our charge. We are primarily known for our work in voters service - registering people to vote, distributing thousands of Voters Guides, and hosting candidates forums. We also educate ourselves and the community on timely issues through discussion meetings. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Process for Amending the US Constitution

Saturday, September 19, 2015

9:30 - 11:30

Join us as we discuss the LWVUS study on the process of amending the US Constitution and attempt to reach consensus on a number of questions including:

What's important enough to warrant revising the infrequently-amended US Constitution?

How would you feel about invoking the never-used clause allowing a Constitutional Convention to amend the US Constitution rather than using ratification by the states?

How should the League evaluate proposed amendments?

Please see the September VOTER for more details and directions to Diane's house.
